Since I needed to go to London early this morning, I had an afternoon gym session that included the dreaded treadmill. I had two thoughts about this workout:
1. I really needed to run since I hadn’t run since a short run on Saturday
2. I get in a bad mood if I run more than a 5k on the treadmill.
So, I armed myself with my ipod shuffle and decided that I would do a 5m at increasing speeds so that I would stay engaged with my run and think about the run and pushing myself rather than just “running on a treadmill”. Here was my run:
5k- 10.0 km/hr
I finished my workout with 10 minutes on the elliptical. My heart rate stayed below 171 for the whole of the workout.
